When she was just four an age, she realized that she was going to be a star in the singing world. Her talent developed by her involvement in the choir at church. When she was still in high school the singer was regularly featured on Skyline Melodies. When she was 15years old, Nancy started her career in night clubs. Within a month she got a gig singing at The Blue Morocco Night Club situated on Boston Road in The Bronx which was where her agent was introduced to her voice and agreed to sign her. In 1960, she was signed to Capitol Records and in that same year she released her first single. Guess who I saw today. Capitol released five Nancy Wilson albums within two years. She initially focused on rhythm and blues under Adderley's influence she moved away from R&B as she embraced music from jazz and torch.
