Jeanie Marie Buss, an American businesswoman. Her current position is that of president of the Los Angeles Lakers, the National Basketball Association's controlling owners. Buss is a native of California and grew up part of a rich family. Jerry Buss, her father was a successful entrepreneur in the field of real estate and later eventually became the proprietor of Lakers Entertainment and Sports. In 1972, her parents split in divorce and she was left feeling emotionally lost. As a 19-year-old she inherited the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as their General Manager. In the following years, she created the Los Angeles Blades roller hockey professional team. She was head of the Great Western Forum before assuming the role of vice president for the Lakers. Buss and her five sisters took over the Lakers control following the passing of Buss' father in 2013. Each sister had the same voice. She took on the role of president for Los Angeles Lakers.
